True Worth

image

A well-known speaker started off his seminar holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.”

He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, “Who still wants it…?” Still the hands were up in the air. “Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Now, who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air.

“My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We may feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.

You are special-Don’t EVER forget it.” If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it may bring. Count your blessings, not your problems.

Seeking God

image

Jeremiah 29:13
(NKJV)
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart
.

Clearly from the verse above, the Creator wants us to know Him. Moreover, since He mentions the heart, which is the centre of our emotions, He desires to have an intimate relationship with us. God has not left us in the dark and neither does He want us to be on a wild goose chase concerning us finding and knowing Him. How then can one find this God, who has been a mystery to many? Well, the Written Word can help us find the Living Word.

John 4:23-24
(NKJV)
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Note that the Lord Jesus speaks about the ‘true worshipper’ and this implies that there are also worshippers who are ‘false’. Unfortunately many are those who fall under this category. Have you been a ‘false worshipper’? Since God is Spirit (unseen, unfelt and untouchable), the greatest hindrance to finding Him has been the human emotions.
Those who approach God with the five physical senses only face disappointment and risk eternal separation from Him.

Finding and worshipping God can only be possible when one is in spirit, that is in faith. Faith is necessary because seeking God is a spiritual experience. One must also be in truth, meaning totally sincere before He who searches the hearts of man. A true encounter with God is only possible when a person possesses these two qualities, faith and sincerity and apart from these one will just have a great void within.

Many are those who have found a Church, a job or a partner in life but have not yet found God. If you really want to have an experience and encounter with God, or worship Him in the way that pleases Him, put your feelings behind and sincerely seek Him by Faith.
